About iLumina

History

iLumina was funded by a DLI-Phase 2 grant from the National Science Foundation. Work on iLumina began in August of 2000. iLumina was developed by the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Collegis, Inc., Virginia Tech, Georgia State University, Grand Valley State University and The College of New Jersey. iLumina is a participating collection in the NSDL initiative and is listed as a Featured Collection. The mission of the NSDL is to "both deepen and extend science literacy through access to materials and methods that reveal the nature of the physical universe and the intellectual means by which we discover and understand it."
